Hi, I’m Katie
When I got married in 2013, I was a full-time designer working for a magazine and events company. I was itching to design my own wedding invites. I do this design stuff for a living, how hard could a few pieces of paper be, right? WRONG. I was so confused by print options (letterpress, duplexing, flat, wha?), and completely overwhelmed with design ideas, fonts, paper options, envelope sizes, guest addressing, and not to mention the “wedding etiquette” that surrounds all of those things.
It was hours and hours of Googling and sifting through the chat boards and websites to learn about wedding paper options and etiquette. It was phone calls and email chains with my local printer trying to figure out print methods, file set-up, and pricing. But all my learning paid off. I loved my wedding invites - navy letterpress on cotton paper with duplexed chevron stripes on the back (how 2013 of me, right?) and gold details. It all worked out, but if I wasn’t able to apply all that knowledge ever again, it would have just seemed like a headache with so much time lost. And I learned things about certain print methods, that quite frankly, just aren’t worth the extra money.
Fast forward to Kokomo Creative where I get to use everything I’ve learned the past 10 years to guide brides and grooms like you. I’ve done all the hard work so when it comes time to create your dream wedding invites, the process will be as stress-free and easy as sipping a Mai Tai on the beach.
